This Privacy Policy explains how Congregation Pirchei Shoshanim, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN 20-3330272), operating its charitable fundraising division as Chesed Projects (“Chesed Projects,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit chesedprojects.org (the “Site”) and donate through it.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you make a donation or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, the donation amount and campaign, any names you submit for prayer (davening), and any message or dedication you choose to include.

Payment information. Card and bank details are entered directly with our third-party payment processors (see Section 4). We do not store full card numbers, CVV codes, or bank credentials on our servers.

Google Sign-In. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and basic profile information from Google — only to identify you and give you access to your own donor account. We request the minimum scopes (email and profile) and request no access to your Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or other Google data.

Automatically collected. Like most websites, we collect limited technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages viewed, through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7).

2. How We Use Your Information

To process your donations and issue tax receipts.
To fulfill prayer-name (davening) and dedication requests you submit.
To communicate with you about your donation, receipts, and — if you opt in — campaign updates.
To operate, secure, and improve the Site.
To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:

Service providers who help us operate — payment processors, email/CRM providers, and hosting — and only as needed to perform their services.
Legal and regulatory authorities where required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

4. Payment Processing

Donations are processed by trusted third parties, which may include Stripe, The Donors Fund, OJC Fund, and Nedarim Plus, depending on the method you choose. Your payment details are handled under each provider’s own security and privacy practices (PCI-DSS compliant). We receive only a confirmation and the information needed to record and receipt your gift.

5. Google User Data & Limited Use

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use your Google profile and email solely to authenticate you and provide the donor-account features you request. We do not transfer, sell, or use this data for advertising.

6. Data Retention

We keep donation and receipt records for as long as required for tax, legal, and accounting purposes, and other information for as long as needed to provide our services. You may ask us to delete information that we are not legally required to retain.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the Site and analytics cookies to understand how our campaigns perform. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect Site functionality.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

9. Your Choices & Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

10. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
